The new Varsity Lakes Online (VLO) website is up and running with minimal transitional issues.
Project Manager Graeme Renfrey said many considerations lead to the change.
“Our decision to change the site was based on issues around ease of use, flexibility, and costs associated with deployment and servicing.”
There are a number of new additions to the VLO website but the most significant change is the increase in simplicity and availability of more information without requiring registration.
Mr Renfrey said that the website will benefit the Varsity Lakes community in a number of ways.
It will orientate new residents and businesses into the community sooner, provide community interest groups and clubs with an online presence, allow promotion for local business online and listing of events and promotion for community stakeholders.
A Varsity business owner said it is good that they are embracing technology in bringing the community closer and up to date.
Businesses can add their details to the new website free of charge by following the links on the page under Business.
Community events and announcements can also be added.
Membership to the website is free for anyone who lives, learns, works or plays in Varsity Lakes.
Mr Renfrey said that
“VLO will continue to be the principle source for community information - but in making it easier to use, we think it will become even more popular.”
