A young musical theatre performer has been accepted into Australian and international programs for her art.
19-year-old Caitlin Quinn of Varsity Lakes this week received acceptance letters for both the CON (Conservatorium of Music, Brisbane) and to be a Norwegian cruise-line performer.
Amid the excitement surrounding the offers, Caitlin will fly to Sydney today to perform at The Actors College of Theatre and Television.
Joining her are colleagues from the school where she currently studies to receive a certificate four in musical theatre: Gold Coast Triple Threat.
Caitlin said that she has had a year of hard work and great experiences and is thankful for her success so far.
“It’s challenging to stay positive in such a tough industry, yet I have always loved the arts and this is what I want to do,” she said.
“I don’t mind if I am on television or in the theatre, I just want to perform!”
Jacob Gundry, who has a background in performing arts and theatre, has seen Caitlin perform and said she was very talented.
“She makes the audience fully believe the story and character she is playing,” he said.
“I will be very surprised if she doesn’t make it to the big time.”
Caitlin will decide on what she will do next year after attending auditions for both the VCA (Victorian College of the Arts) and NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) next week.
