In an attempt to increase crowd participation, a group of Gold Coast United followers are devising ways to keep fans showing the team their support on and off the field.

According to the electronic scoreboard at matches, the average crowd attendance is around 5000 per match of the 27,400 capacity venue.

Gold Coast United Supporters Club members otherwise known as The Beach are determined to increase attendance and create a fun atmosphere during games.

The Beach representative Kristofer Jenkins said members’ goal was to support the team, which they did through singing and chanting at matches.

“We have great atmosphere and great fun,” said Mr Jenkins.

“And we would like to give the local communities a taste of what we experience at every match.”

Varsity Lakes resident Josef Ormsby said he hadn’t heard of The Beach but wanted to support the team.

“I’ve always heard that they produce amazing atmosphere and I’d love to be a part of it,” said Mr Ormsby.

“I hope they get involved in the community so I can learn more about them and see what they are like.”
