A spate of disturbances around Varsity Lakes during the last month has angered frustrated local residents.
A local convenience shop assistant Jo Jackson said it was teenagers mainly involved in the disturbances.
“Over the last month the numbers of teenagers hanging out in the streets has increased,” she said.
“They are usually between 14-16 [years old] and always sit outside our store.”
Both Jo and another local resident who has lived in the area for nine months said noise problems with teens on skateboards had increased of late.
Local resident Sophie Muir said her apartment faced onto the street and was frustrated that noise complaints did nothing to reduce the problem.
“The kids are out late, well past 11pm,” she said
“On one night, I was approached, and asked if I wanted some.”
Miss Muir said most residents saw Varity lakes as a quaint and peaceful area. “It’s simply a few crazy hooligans messing everything up”
