Varsity Lakes Rail Extension Project – Controlled Blasting

QR wishes to advise residents and businesses near the Varsity Lakes Rail Station development site (off Casua Drive) that controlled blasting will be taking place from Monday 14 July until September 2008.

The blasting is necessary to remove hard sedimentary rock during the construction of the Station.

The blasts will take place on weekdays (weather permitting) between 11.00am – 12.00 noon and / or 4.00pm – 5.00pm.  A warning siren will sound approximately 30 seconds prior to each blast with a 10 second ‘all clear’ siren sounding following the blast.

Minor vibration may be felt during the blasting.  Traffic delays are not expected.
