By David Williamson.

Varsity resident is an aspiring young boxer who is determined to make his mark on Australian sport.

Micah Rivetti is a 23 year old professional boxer who is ranked 14th in Australia in the welterweight division.

Micah has had wins in the Queensland titles and Golden Gloves.

Micah said he had been boxing for eight years and is diligent in his training.
“I’ve been boxing for a while so I know how much commitment and training it takes,” he said.

Micah is set to fight this Friday at the Southport RSL and is looking to better his rank.

Micah Rivetti said that he was confident coming into this fight and was well prepared.

“I was asked about the fight last minute by the promoter...I am pretty prepared because I was training for another fight in a month,” he said.

“Boxing is all about being prepared, but you never know until the night,” he said.
