The Titans football team members descended on a Varsity Lakes park to help children learn the art of rugby league on Tuesday.
One hundred and forty six children aged 4-13 were taken through various training exercises focused on tackling, player agility and ball drills by local players.
Though some of the children were too small to hold the standard size footballs, they completed various ball drills with special junior sized balls.
There were numerous Titans football players there, with players from the under 20’s team and first grade division.
Development Officer for the Titans Darren Robb said the children had the opportunity to meet first grade players and get autographs from their favourite sportsmen.
“Today has been a great day open to all children who are interested in rugby league, we are very happy with the turn out, kids from all over came ranging from Currumbin to Runaway Bay and as far as the Sunshine Coast,” he said.
The day cost $25 which included morning tea, lunch and a show bag with Titans merchandise.
The clinic was held in conjunction with busy bodies and they are planning many more clinics in future school holidays.
