Theme Park Architect at Varsity Lakes

A prominent theme park architect has a firm based in Varsity Lakes.
 
Architect Alan Griffith is well known for designing theme parks such as Wet ‘n’ Wild, Sea World and Movie World.
 
Mr Griffith has also consulted to other theme parks in Australia and Germany as well as designing one in Taiwan.
 
“I have helped to design projects around the Gold Coast such as the Arts Centre and an expansion of the Gold Coast Hospital before I moved on to design theme parks,” he said.
 
Mr Griffith said he won the project to design the Sea World Resort and subsequently designed Wet ‘n’ Wild and Movie World.
 
“It was a flow on of events, which often happens in business if you do a good job,” he said.
 
Mr Griffith said he moved his office from Robina to Varsity Lakes because he was working in the area.
 
“I also enjoy the atmosphere around Varsity Lakes CBD,” he said.
 
Mavidy Studios owner Andrew Sun said his shop is located in the Central 240 building, which was designed by Alan Griffith.
 
“This building has a great view overlooking the lake,” he said.
 
“It is nice to know that this building was designed by an architectural genius.”
