Local Businesses around Varsity Lake are offering specials to help undampen the gloom.

Signature Dish Cafe and Catering have a different menu everyday and have been making warm dishes due to the cold weather.

Cafe owner Jo Jackson said everyday was different and special.

“We structure the menu around the weather by making things such as lasagnas and pastas, warm meals,” she said.

Mavidy studios Business manager David Sun said the store was new to the area and they were offering a free photo shoot with the purchase of a full price gown to celebrate.

Mr Sun said when customers spend $200 they received a free photo shoot and from the 50-60 photos captured, the customer selected two to take home and additionals cost $25.

“Its a fun experience,” he said.

Local Emily Crothers said she was surprised that they offered a free photo shoot when buying a dress.

“That would be really fun to get a photo shoot after buying a pretty dress,” she said.

Cocomousse Hair employee Haley Grima said the best way to feel good was to be pampered.

“Just mention the article and receive 25 percent of a full service [cut or colour],” she said.
