More than just a competition.

Learn to row, refine your skills, and be driven and motivated with your own team as you prepare for the Somerset Corporate regatta.

Your company’s team will have the opportunity to experience the total body; low impact work out that rowing can provide whilst enjoying the pristine rowing conditions on the Olympic Gold medal water ways in the heart of the Gold Coast.

Get together your team of 4 rowers and 1 coxswain to compete in quad sculls at the Somerset Rowing Corporate Challenge.

You will prepare over a 6 week period under the guidance of World Rowing Championships Bronze medallist and Australian team rowing coach, Andrew Butler.

This ultimate team building experience will culminate in a regatta and sportsman dinner where Olympic Gold Medallist, Duncan Free

Somerset Rowing Learn to Row/Orientation course
- Intensive half day course to help you to get started
- Refresh your rowing knowledge
- No experience necessary
- Learn how to respond to specific rowing commands
- Practice safe boat handling and manoeuvring
- Somerset College and Somerset Rowing Shed
- Morning tea provided
Training and Preparation
- Centrally located at the Somerset Rowing Shed at Bond University
- 2 sessions per week for 6 weeks, 6 am – 7:30am. Other times may be available by negotiation.
- Preparation and technique from former Australian Team Coach and Rower and Somerset Head Rowing Coach, Andrew Butler
- All coaches and accredited and experienced
- Opportunity to train with and against rival crews
Corporate Regatta
- Will be held on the Rowing Course at Lake Orr
- Compete against other companies for the “Ruse Challenge Trophy”
- Men’s / Women’s or mixed crews
Sportsman’s Awards Dinner
- Olympic Gold medallist Duncan Free will present some ideas to apply the lessons learnt to make your business more effective
- Presentation of winners medals and trophy
- Held at Somerset College
