Robina Blood Donor Centre calls out for fresh blood
 
As thousands of children head back to school, spare a thought for all those children lying in hospital. 
 
Many of these children rely on blood and blood products for their survival, especially those suffering from leukaemia and other life threatening illnesses.
 
Robina Blood Donor Centre needs new donors to come forward this week. The centre was 84 whole blood donations behind its January commitments for recipients and has far more vacant spaces this February than it does have taken.
 
By giving up just an hour of your time this week, you can save or improve the lives of three people. To be eligible to donate you need to be aged between 16 years and 70 years (16 and 17 with parental consent), weigh more than 45kg (50kg under 18) and be in reasonably good health.
