MEDIA RELEASE
On your bike Councillor
Martyn Shedd – candidate for Division 11 – will be on his bike as he endeavours to visit every street and park in his electorate on the lead up to the local elections on March 31.
Martyn continues to do things his way as he jumps on his bike with his unmistakable trailer and go4fresh sign in tow, aiming to meet local members of the Division 11 community on their terms.
Varsity Lakes based candidate Martyn Shedd said he is eager to communicate with all members of his electorate where he lives, works and plays.
“The issues that matter to them matter to me too”, he said.
“It is important to make myself available throughout the division but I want it to be on the voter’s terms, so I welcome people to pull me over or stop by my trailer. My ride4fresh initiative is an alternative to the traditional doorknock which I find too intrusive.”
“It will not be unusual to see me on my bike at the local coffee shops, businesses, parks and streets, meeting community members, talking to them about their concerns and ideas.”
Mr Shedd is all set up to enjoy exploring each street and park, meeting householders or business owners that need someone to listen to them. On board his bike trailer Martyn has a couple of simple folding stools, a few bottles of cold water, and - most importantly – is ready to lend an ear to your concerns and ideas whilst sharing his.
“I guess you could call it a good old fashioned Aussie yarn” he said.
Head to www.go4fresh.info for more details regarding upcoming events, what Martyn hopes to achieve if elected as Councillor and, of course, about Martyn himself.
