The event office of the 2009 Australian University Games has moved to it's new home in Varsity Lakes.

Australian University Sport organises the best athletes from 46 universities over Australia, bringing together over 6000 sports men and women nationally.

The office is responsible for organising the yearly Australian University Games event which is to be held on the Gold Coast this year.

Varsity College student Jonathan Graves said he was excited about what Australian University Sport had to offer.

"I'm interested in knowing that when I start university ... I'll have my sporting interests covered by a purpose driven organisation."

Project Manager from Australian University Sport Wesley Grant said the event was a week of sporting and social activities.

Mr Grant said they were looking for a range of volunteers with varying skills from across the community to help with this year’s games.

“We require around 20 key volunteers to work once a week for around five to six hours,” he said.

“During the event we will require around 280 – 300 extras on top of that. “

For more information regarding volunteering contact the Varsity office on 07 5593 2399.

Their office can be reached on Level 3 of 246 Varsity Parade, Varsity Lakes QLD, 4227.
