The faulty market square clock tower is confusing residents and worrying salesmen about Varsity Lakes’ reputation, according to locals.

Baker Vishal Goel from Moshi’s Bakery said he noticed about several weeks ago that all four clocks present different times.

“At first I thought about a kind of world clock, but then I realised it was just nonsense time,” he said.

“Its closeness to real time every now and then is tricky and almost made me miss an appointment, when my watch was broken.

“I’m really worried about the bad impression this absurdity gives my non-resident customers or visitors.”

New Zealander Harold Moorecroft is interested in moving to Varsity Lakes with his family but said he was not amused by the different times on the clock.

“As an engineer I’m used to fully functional precision work and therefore this neglectfulness is hardly understandable for me,” he said.

“Considering the prominent place of the clock tower makes it even worse.”

Property Manager Kim Campbell did not wish to comment on the situation.
