A third convenience store has opened in Varsity Lakes with the goal of targeting customers who want goods around the clock.
Special 365 on Varsity Parade, next to Blackboard Café, sells the usual range of convenience-store goods but has an important twist: it never closes.
Despite the recession, store manager Shalini Khwiana said she was hopeful business would be good.
“It is picking up, we are new,” Ms Khwiana said
“It will take time.”
Ms Khwiana said the location of Special 365 was nice because it could draw business from Varsity Lakes as well as Bond University.
There are currently two other competing convenience stores in the Varsity Lakes area, but Ms Khwiana said Special 365's trading hours were an advantage.
“We compete with the other stores during the day, but because we are open 24 hours, seven days a week, we have an advantage,” Ms Khwiana said.
