New Varsity Lakes residents said they have happily settled into the community and are already making the most of its facilities.
Varsity Lakes resident Katherine Coulter said her family moved from Coomera to the area two weeks ago.
“My morning walk on the boardwalk along Lake Orr is absolutely beautiful,” she said.
“I saw there is a nice barbeque area on the lakefront which would be superb for get-togethers with friends,” she said.
Mrs Coulter’s son Braedyn Coulter, aged 12, said he would start school at Varsity Collage after the holidays.
“I am excited to make new friends,” he said.
Mrs Coulter said she felt safe allowing her children to ride their bikes and skateboards around Varsity Lakes.
“It’s great because everything is within walking distance,” she said.
“It makes it okay to let the kids ride around by themselves and even to the shops and to school.”
Ray White Real Estate Agent for Varsity Lakes Tom Blair said people were attracted to Varsity Lakes because it was becoming the new commercial hub of the Gold Coast.
“It is close proximity to public transport has strong shopping structure and a good high school,” he said.
