Over 100 business women attended the Minter Ellison spring fling networking event last Friday at the Lake Cafe & Bar.
The event aimed to encourage networking among business women and to raise funds for breast cancer.
Tickets cost $50 and $10 of each of the tickets was donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Local lawyer Hannah King said she helped organise the event and was happy so many women participated.
Miss King said business women did not have enough networking functions on the Gold Coast. “They do seem to have some [network events] at Brisbane but sometimes it’s difficult for us on the Gold Coast to get up there,” she said.
Miss King said networking events were ideal for women to learn and help each other with their careers. “I think the function can be a platform for women in business to firstly grow their networks and also share their skills and promote the achievements they made in their careers,” she said.
Accountant Paula Smith said she thought the event was a success. “This event helped me and my company,” she said.
Miss King said future networking events would be considered.
