Master chefs will be coming to monthly Masterclass sessions at a local restaurant from the end of November.

The upcoming Masterclass program at the Lake Cafe & Bar will be based around the principles of the popular reality television show MasterChef.

Professional chefs will be preparing three selected dishes from different cultures and local cooks will have the opportunity to learn first hand.

Participants can then taste each dish matched with a glass of wine or champagne selected by a winemaker or representative of the company selling this beverage.

The first class was held as part of Bond University’s annual Bondstock festival about two weeks ago.

Company owner Gerhard Breuss said the success of this event and people’s interest inspired him starting his own Masterclasses.

At this first Masterclass session “we seem to have captured the audience,” he said.

“I do not know whether it was the cooking or my talking … but either way, we will continue doing that.”

Bond student and participant of the Bond Masterclass Birgit Kunzli agreed.
“I asked for a vegetarian dish, which they were more than happy to offer,” she said.

“[But] what I loved most about the event was, that you do not only learn to prepare great meals, but you also meet new people within a great atmosphere.”
