The hike and bike trails around Lake Orr and Varsity Lakes are almost complete.

Delfin’s production manager Joel Salmon said the Varsity Parade and the new South Bay development projects were due to be finished by the end of this financial year.

“This will link the existing hike and bike trails around Varsity Lakes,” Mr Salmon said.

Delfin began the hike and bike project 10 years ago in Varsity Lakes, which will soon be home to more than 10,000 residents, he said.

All paths on the hike and bike trail are connected to nearby areas of the Varsity Lakes community.

Mr Salmon said the hike and bike trails were designed for connectivity to encourage an active lifestyle.

“There are no dead ends or endless loops [in the hike and bike trail],” he said.

Varsity Lakes resident Yaseen Essack said he enjoys running around the lake and taking his dog for walks.

“It will be nice once the path is complete,” he said.

“I like the feeling of being around nature but still close to home.”
