The Hear and Say Centre, a leading Paediatric Auditory-Verbal and cochlear implant centre has been teaching children who are deaf or hearing impaired to listen and speak since 1992.
The Centres aims for its children to achieve speech and language in the normal range for their age by six years of age giving them the opportunity for a mainstream education, employment of choice and social integration with the hearing world.
VLCL is a proud supporter of the Varsity Lakes Hear and Say Centre and in partnership with Delfin Lend Lease has donated $10,000 to help one child – 4 year old Jackie K - receive the care and assistance she needs for 12 months at the Hear and Say Centre.
At the 2009 Carols at Varsity Lakes hosted by VLCL, the Hear and Say Centre were nominated as benefactors for donations. Throughout the evening they raised nearly $3000, thanks to generous donations from the public, proceeds of the sale of ice-cream from Dippin Dots, gold coin donations from Fun Cars and through the sale of glow sticks & candles – a fantastic effort.
VLCL look forward to the continuing their support of the wonderful work done by Hear and Say Centre.
