By Kristina Costalos and Christina Webb, Bond University Journalism Students Golfers can put their clubs to good use and help raise money for the Gold Coast Hospital’s cancer and children’s wards.
The Gold Coast Hospital foundation manager Beth Dermoudy said there were many competitions and prizes to be won during the charity golf day.
“Capital Insight sponsors are handing out golf umbrellas and Toshiba will be giving one skilful golf player the chance to win a $20,000 multifunction centre and laptop pack” she said.
Ms Dermoudy said individuals and businesses could take part in the event as well as become a sponsor.
“There will be a good cross section of businesses and Gold Coast community identity.”
Robina Woods Golf Club assistant general manager Marcus Sullivan said the charity golf day would include welcome sandwich platters, a post-golf barbeque buffet and refreshments.
“The net proceeds of the event will end up with the charity,” he said. “So come along and support it.”
Mr Sullivan said many people as well as charities, sporting associations and local businesses have shown interest, but there were only 54 entries still available.
The charity golf day will tee-off at 12pm on the 2nd of April
