Jetts gyms are popping up all over the country, with the latest edition in Varsity Lakes set to compete with the well established Bond University Sports Centre.
Jetts gyms solve people’s problems by giving people more time to work out as they are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, suiting those with busy lifestyles.
Ashley Granger, a Griffith University student, struggles to balance university, work, exercise and life.
“Jetts suits my lifestyle completely, the fact that I can go there whenever I want, after a finishing an assignment at 1am or after work at 10pm… literally whenever,” he said.
Members are given a tag that they swipe which unlocks the door and the lights turn on allowing them to workout whenever they want.
But Bond gym employee of 20 years Jan Critchley, said the Jetts franchise had not impacted on the university’s business.
She said this was partly because the Bond gym focused on the staff and students of the University.
A member of the Bond gym, Craig Daley, said: “The Bond gym is perfect for me since I love swimming and playing basketball. The Jetts gym just doesn’t have facilities like that.”
