Fun and Fitness in Varsity

By Caroline Brown, Bond University Journalism Student.

Group personal training is a great way to get fit in a fun environment and at $8 a session it is a fraction of the cost of a one-on-one session.

Recreation and Events Coordinator for Busy Bodies Australia Fiona Galletly suggests group personal training sessions are a great way for people to get together and have a good time while exercising.

“Group Personal Training began in Varsity Lakes to engage the community in getting out and about,” she said.

Varsity Lakes resident Dan O’Brien likes to exercise in a group because it keeps him motivated. “It allows me to spend time with friends, and get fit at the same time,” he said.

Not everyone enjoys working out in a group, however those that do benefit from the support and motivation of others. “It depends on the person, people who like to train together like the motivation, they can work in pairs and push each other,” said Ms Galletly.

The Group Personal Training program runs on Monday mornings and Wednesdays during lunch time.
