Friends of the Park

The long awaited walking paths in the Varsity Lakes Conservation Park at Varsity Sound have recently been completed.  Almost 2,000 metres of asphalt and concrete paths will allow visitors to enjoy the pleasurable experience of walking through the nature park.

Quick Facts

  • The Conservation Park consist of 22 ha (approximately 54 acres) of wetlands.
  • The ponds throughout the wetlands are constructed to filter pollutants from the water coming from Reedy Creek and Varsity Lakes after flooding occurs.
  • 200 hollow logs and 80 nesting boxes have been installed for fauna
  • The Park contains remnant forests which vary from Open Dry Sclerophyll Forest to Swamp Forests.
