Hop on down to Varsity Lakes this Easter to join in the fun and games as part of the family-friendly celebrations at Varsity Lakes, beginning Saturday 27 March.
The holiday program is set to bring the local community together with a range of sporting and cooking activities planned for children throughout the school holidays.
Varsity Lakes senior project director Carl Bruhn said the Easter program has become a highlight on the Varsity Lakes community calendar, with more than 300 people expected to take part in this year’s activities.
“The Easter program gives local residents and their families an opportunity to celebrate the holiday in a fun, family-friendly environment, while enjoying the outdoor surrounds at Varsity Lakes,” Mr Bruhn said.
“We are also very pleased to have sponsorship from the Varsity Lakes Community Bank - Bendigo Bank - as well as Varsity Lakes Community Limited (VLCL) for this year’s Easter Festival, allowing us to offer some great school holiday activities.”
Varsity Lakes Community Limited (VLCL) is a community based not for profit organisation established to ensure continuity of key initiatives at Varsity Lakes.
VLCL chairman Nic Rone said there is also fun to be had by mums and dads.
“To kick-start the activities, everyone is invited to participate in the free Easter egg hunt on Saturday 27 March, before the scheduled program of children’s events,” Mr Rone said.
As part of their commitment to supporting local communities, the Varsity Lakes Community Bank will sponsor free workshops including circus skills for juggling and acrobatic enthusiasts and a cheerleading workshop.
VLCL sponsored activities include a free Easter balloon workshop and a cooking class which allows kids to cook Easter treats to take home.
In addition, sailing and kayaking on Lake Orr will be on offer for a small fee.
