Cucina opens in Market Square

By Emma Lago, Bond University Journalism Student

A new pizza and pasta cafe in Market Square celebrated its opening last Saturday, June 6.

Cucina Pizza Cafe owner Cameron Suardana said the shop had been inundated with customers since its doors opened.

“We had over 120 people here on the (opening) night with about 170 pizzas and pastas going out, which I was not excepting,” he said
“We sold out [of pizza] last night as well ... selling over 80 orders.”

The opening attracted many university students, as well as young couples and families from the Varsity Lakes area.

Bond University student Meera Sivanathan said she attended the event and was excited that a new food outlet had opened in Market Square.
“The pizza was great,” she said. “I had the Cucina Supreme.”

The cafe serves pizzas, pastas, salads, gelato, traditional desserts and coffee, as well as alcoholic beverages.

The opening featured local DJ Rory Cosgriff as well as pizza and pasta specials.

Cucina is located next to Night Owl on Varsity Parade in Market Square.
