Christmas Comes To Varsity Lakes via The Polar Express

The Polar Express, featuring Tom Hanks, is the first Twilight Movie for the summer on Saturday December 19, 7pm at Market Square.

Varsity Lakes has been featuring outdoor films for more than 5 years and this year the movies move to the lake front theatre at Market Square.

Market Square, the retail, dining and entertainment heart of Varsity Lakes, has been the heartbeat of Varsity Lakes since it opened in the early 2000’s.

Since then, Market Square has served over a million cups of coffee, positioning it as the Gold Coast’s newest dining and entertainment capital.

Local retailer and proprietor of award winning Lake Café & Bar, Gerhard Breuss, said Market Square has progressively emerged as a destination of choice to meet and enjoy the perfect cup of coffee over a business meeting or with friends, and its casual village atmosphere and numerous cafes makes it unique on the Gold Coast.

“However we also have plenty to offer those not interested in just drinking the world’s most popular bean, as the area is also known for its convenient shopping and award winning dining options” said Mr Breuss.

The lakefront precinct, likened to the fashionable high streets of England and Europe with its eclectic mix of shopping, restaurants and services, is currently celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

Its popularity has attracted the attention of a number of new eateries in recent years with a stable of more than a dozen restaurants and cafes now calling Market Square home.

Boasting more than 40 retailers, the growing popularity of the area has been proven through a number of recent accolades which include Lake Cafe + Bar and Krish Indian, which have both won industry awards.

Market Square also hosts other well-known establishments such as the newly opened Mecca Restaurant, Crema Espresso, Ellos, the CBD Hotel and a variety of other eateries and specialty stores.

The precinct is also home to a range of banks, a supermarket, health and beauty establishments, travel agent, homewares, convenience stores and accommodation and conference facilities which all service the 500 plus businesses operating in the local area.
