Café Piazza has moved into Varsity Lakes this month, after Crema Espresso closed last month.
After finally settling in and receiving its signage on Thursday, the café is serving customers organic food from Byron Bay.
Café owner Renata Biehl sources the majority of food and coffee from Bun Coffee in Byron Bay because of its free trade and organic features.
“We source the coffee, chocolate, biscuits and pies from Byron Bay and the bread is fresh from an organic bakery,” Ms Biehl said.
“I like having my own café instead of a franchise. It lets me put out the fresh food that customers ask for.”
Ms Biehl is also looking into expanding the café, which is currently open during the day, to a tapas bar open at night.
“We’re looking into getting a BYO license so the boys can bring their beers and the ladies their wine, while enjoying casual tapas at the café,” she said.
Bond University student Hannah Smith has made Café Piazza her regular hangout.
“I heard about the café through a friend at uni and went there for coffee one morning and I love it,” Miss Smith said.
“The food is reasonably priced and the people in there are friendly which makes the experience so much better.”
