Robina salon Brazilian Butterfly had a busy week as locals prepared for Melbourne Cup and summer.
Salon owner Kylie McLennan said the lead up to Melbourne Cup and the warmer weather was a busy time for them.
“We have extended our opening hours for summer on Wednesday and Thursday until 8pm,” she said.
Brazilian Butterfly has operated in Robina for five years and boasts trained therapists specialising in hair removal and spray tanning.
Every year spring racing season and the onset of summer prompts locals to increase their beauty regime to include regular hair removal and spray tanning treatments, and this year is no different.
Mrs McLennan said a safe and natural spray tan was a key beauty look for the Melbourne Cup this year.
“Our Sun FX system gives a gorgeous natural tan, without the damage of sun exposure,” she said.
“A beautiful tan enhances the colour of an outfit, making it look ten times nicer.”
The store’s other popular new product is BB Jazzle – a selection of Swarovski crystals designs that adhere to the skin for added decoration.
Varsity Lakes resident Fatima Abdallah said a lot of preparation goes into her look for Melbourne Cup, including a trip to the salon for tanning.
“Even if you attend the Melbourne Cup events locally, it’s a great chance to dress up and getting a beautiful tan is part of that process,” she said.
“It completes the look.”
