Varsity Lakes is a community orientated area, and the Loks fit right in with their family run business, Finest Impressions Bakery.

The bakery is Chinese based in both food and décor, offering a unique range of freshly baked goods for the community.

One of the main attractions of this bakery is that it is open from 7am to 12 midnight and has a welcoming atmosphere for local residents and students.

Owner Jak Lok runs the business with father Tony and sister Kylie, with occasional help from part time workers.

Part time employee and local resident Kamina Nagel enjoys working at the bakery and eating the baked goods.

“I love having somewhere to go at night when I don’t feel like going out, or going all the way to Broadbeach for a coffee,” she said.

“The bakery is open late so I can hang out with friends when I want to, and grab a coffee or a snack when I’m up doing work.”

Since the opening of the bakery in late May this year, it has been a great success with its original and unique style.

Mr Lok says it is different to most Western foods and he is happy to bring something new to the market.

“I like the fact that I offer a unique product,” he said.

Finest Impressions has future plans to franchise the business up the east coast of Australia.
