Asian Court Restaurant invited a new chef two months ago.
Chef HanLin Du said he learnt to cook in Beijing and he had been cooking for 18 years.
He said "in Chinese food - color, taste and smell were very important".
“Dishes should be colorful, the smell should be appetizing and taste should be sweet, or spicy,” Chef Du said.
“For those people who cannot eat spicy, I might make [their food] a little bit saltier [for] them.”
“Nowadays, people are more focused on the health and we serve a lot green vegetables, maybe this is the reason why my food [is] popular,” Chef Du said.
Asian Court Restaurant manager JiaHao Lou said since Chef Du came to the restaurant, their customer base had increased.
Varsity Lakes resident Ann Breuss said she was a regular customer of Asian Court Restaurant.
“We love Chinese food, they have good food here and the price is good,” she said.
