(By Kate Brady - Bond University Journalism Student) Varsity residents are complaining after the recent closure of the local news agency in Market Square.
Varsity Lakes resident Carla Scott said she used to walk and get the paper every morning but is now forced to go to Robina. “I now have to drive to Robina where there are no carparks,” she said. The owner of the news agency was not available for comment. Varsity Lakes resident Edward Fleetwood said he had to actually drive somewhere to get his paper every morning. “I wish the news agency was still open, it would be a lot easier to get the paper every morning,” he said. At the moment there are no plans for a news agency to open again in Varsity.
