A family-oriented Varsity Lakes medical centre has dedicated it's eight services to past patients.
Dr Vijaya Chetty is director of medical services at the Gold Coast Medical Precinct on Varsity Parade and her daughter Koshiliva works there as well.
The clinic is in its fourth week of operation, with eight sections catering to a range of community needs.
“I’m very happy with the centre,” said Dr Chetty.
“If it runs to full capacity as I have envisioned it, it will be a great service for the community.”
Dr Chetty said she was inspired by former patients who had a significant impact on her medical career.
Her daughter Koshiliva said she admired her mother’s initiative in establishing the centre.
“The whole clinic is dedicated to people she cares about and some of the patients that have passed,” she said.
“She really loves this place.”
The clinic provides children’s services, women’s health, men’s health, cosmetic surgery, skin care, after hours emergency, specialist consulting rooms and four general practitioner rooms.
At the entrance to each area sits a plaque inscribed with the name of a patient she has worked with in the past.
The children’s service is dedicated to the Arnott Family, where the plaque reads: “Three boys, loving brothers, supporting parents, sharing life, family.”
